Cambodia.

So...i got my ticket to Cambodia.
I leave June 20 and come back in August.
Thank You for your continued prayer for my life and for reading this blog.

I really didn't think it was going to happen...God is Good.
Blessed

Been super busy working lately with the Hornets (playoffs vs. Lakers) and with weddings.
iTuesday has been awesome the past couple of weeks (as usual). We have been doing a series on 'What Really Matters'.
I'll be writing more about that this week.

If you would like to help me, please send me an e-mail @ sdaigle188@gmail.com

Mission Trip to New Orleans

Alex City's Mission Trip to New Orleans = Success.

Amazing week with these kids from Alex City. Miss em' already. They did a CRAZY amount of work and basically remodeled a church on the Westbank. So proud of these kids. Take a look at the pics from this past week...

I. Am. Exhausted.

I think i got about...8 hours of sleep since they arrived on Sunday. This past week has been totally worth the preparation and lack of sleep. THANK YOU JESUS for making this week go so smoothly. No major problems. No major complaints. No injuries. Only spiritual growth, planting seeds and building relationships.
I gave the kids an evaluation form to fill out on how they think this week went and what was the best part. A majority of them put that their favorite part(s) were iTuesday and the devotionals that we had in the morning. One kid wrote down that he rededicated his life to Christ this week! Please pray for these kids. Pray that the seeds that were planted in their life this week would grow and bear much fruit, giving glory to God.
They even started talking about linking up iTuesday via the internet so that they could be with us every Tuesday night as we meet. How awesome would that be?

Here is the link to a video that i made for them to take home to their church:

Immediately following their departure...work. work. work.

Today i was BLESSED to have work. I photographed a financial conference at the Sheraton Hotel. I was able to plant seeds today while talking to someone who was at the conference. Awesome conversation about following Christ 100% and living for what really matters.

Tomorrow i will be photographing a wedding that i was contracted for about 8 months ago. They paid me for this wedding last year, so i won't be making any money. But the fact that i was paid and able to use that money when i went to India last year is Awesome. Blessed.

Sunday morning i will be preaching on the westbank where the kids worked on a church. Very excited/honored to be saying i will be leading worship and preaching this Sunday morning.

After that...i think i will take a nap.

Please pray with me about my financial situation regarding my trip to Cambodia this summer. I pray that it works out if it is God's plan for me. i have not had any time to write letters/ask for support. I guess i will just have to rely on God for complete support. Thats a good thing.

=)

They are already talking about coming back. Can't wait for that.

Nuff' Said

So Much to write. But too tired to do that...so i'll just say that tonight we had around 70+ people at iTuesday and we were able to take an offering of $600+ for our friends in Africa and India. God's Awesome. nuff' said.

Outside my box

Blessed to say that i have been very busy this past week. Daniel (youth pastor from Alex City) came in town to look over the work projects that his kids will be doing when they get here. We both are excited about how much the kids will be helping the local churches here in Kenner and on the West Bank. Pumped. They get here in T-minus 9 days.

This past Tuesday night, we had bad weather (to say the least). The street on which we meet for iTuesday was flooded and there was nickel sized hail. In spite of all that, we still had iTuesday and we still had a descent turn out. I was surprised to see how many people swam to iTuesday last week. Was definitely worth it. Corey Hicks shared about forgiveness and Matthew 18:21-23. Awesome night.

Here is a picture of me and my niece, Emma, on my birthday (march 11). Love that little girl.

My family: Heather, Dad, Mom and Me. Blessed to have this family. This photo was taken last weekend at a wedding.

Outside My Box

In planning for leaving the country this upcoming summer, there is something that i am beginning to realize. I NEED the support (both praying and financially) from my family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. This trip to cambodia is going to cost me around $3,000. I am working as hard as i can and as often as i am given the opportunity to work. I am saving as much as i can while still paying my bills. But even with my work and saving i will still be short of the amount i need to go this summer.

I have been talking with many friends of mine who are missionary's both here in New Orleans and around the world. Every single one of them has told me to start asking for 'partners' as i continue to go serve around the world.

I have never asked for money. never.

For the past two years, as i have traveled to India, i worked and raised the money that i needed on my own. The cost of traveling and living in India is cheaper than it is for Cambodia.

Asking for help is definitely outside of my comfort zone and i'm praying that God gives me wisdom on who and how to ask to partner with me as i continue to go where God leads me to go.

If you are reading this, i ask you to pray about partnering with me. The money that you give me (one time or monthly) will be used to cover the cost of this trip to cambodia and my trip back to India later this year. Please pray about helping me financially. I need it.

The ways that you can give to me are:

1. Clicking on the 'donate' button on the top right side of this page.
2. Emailing me at sdaigle188@gmail.com

Also, if you are reading this and you have a friend or family member that might be interested in supporting me, please share this blog with them.

THANK YOU for reading this, praying for me, and being a good friend.

First Jerusalem, Then Judea

Been thinking about India a lot lately. I'm constantly being encouraged through e-mail by my friends there. Can't wait to see their faces again and see what God is doing in their village and the surrounding villages. Please keep them in your prayers.

Today I was able to sit down and catch up with my friend Corey Hicks. I've been knowing Corey since i was in high school and have had several opportunities to work along side with him at different events. Today's conversation with Corey was encouraging to say the least. Corey is in the process of planting a church in New Orleans East in the 7th Ward. I guess this isn't a place where tourist would normally visit (haha). We talked a little bit about India, missions and what is going on here in New Orleans. This upcoming Monday i will be visiting Corey and his leadership team to share with them. Pumped about that and very undeserving. Please pray for me regarding monday night.

Acts 1:8
'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

This is a scripture we discussed today at lunch. Reminded me of the importance of working and serving where you are in this moment. Dissecting this scripture shows us the exactly what Jesus meant when he said this statement. Looking at the map, we see that Jerusalem is at the center of Judea and Samaria. and after that is the 'ends of the earth'. We can see that Jesus meant for us to focus on the center and work our way out. Sometimes, we forget this and focus on 'the ends of the earth' before the 'Jerusalem'. God has us where we are at in this moment for a reason. Take notice of that. Take notice of who we are surrounded by. Take notice of the needs surrounding us right now. Focus on that, THEN work our way out.

Excited to see what God is going to do in the 7th Ward and New Orleans East through Corey's ministry.

My good friend, Daniel (Alex City, AL) will be coming in town tomorrow to meet and see first hand what his youth group will be doing on their missions trip to New Orleans on April 10-14. Gonna be a fun/busy weekend.

Here is a picture taken at iTuesday on Mardi Gras Night. How awesome is it that young people get together in New Orleans on Mardi Gras Night to worship God? yea...awesome. Thank You God for this family.

Today i looked into how much my trip to Cambodia will cost this summer. Flight alone cost $2200. To be honest, i was very discouraged. I do realize that me being 'discouraged' shows that i don't fully trust that God will provide. Something for me to work on...trusting God. I'm praying for ways to raise this money through working and support. Please pray with me.

He Knows.

Read this today. Been thinking about it. Really stood out to me.

Proverbs 16:9
'In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.'

Question i am always asked: 'whats next for you? whats your plan?'

I hate that question. The reason i hate that question is because if i were to say 'well, proverbs 16:9 says 'in his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps', so i don't have any plans. I just want to wait and see what God wants to do with me and allow myself to be available to whatever his plan is, wherever it is.' If i were to say that, the next reply would be 'yea...BUT...'
and then something totally distorted view of 'proper' life planning (financially, marriage, kids, 401K, etc...). The more i read and spend time with God, the more i see that his plans are perfect, no matter what i do or try to do. His will is always going to prevail.

The remainder of this year...i don't know. Do i have desires and potential countries i will be going to? yes. is that for sure? no.

Lets just see what God does.

Pray for me. I pray for you.

I don't know, i guess i would just challenge you as a friend to read that scripture and meditate on just that. It's a lot to think about. It's your life that you have to think about when you read that one verse, and whether or not you are trusting that God is determining your steps.....no matter what you do.
